Standard ready-made frames are dispatched in 2–3 working days. Bespoke (made-to-measure) frames take 5 working days to make plus delivery. We post Monday to Friday — orders placed Friday after 2pm dispatch the following Monday.
You'll receive a workshop email when we cut your frame, and a tracking link when it ships.
International delivery.
We ship to the Republic of Ireland and Channel Islands via tracked Royal Mail International (5–7 working days, £14). For EU and rest-of-world enquiries, email tom@photoframers.co.uk — we can usually arrange shipping but customs duties are the recipient's responsibility.
— Returns
Returns policy.
30-day free returns on all ready-made frames. If you're not happy, post it back to us (we'll refund the return postage) and we'll refund you in full within 5 working days of receipt.
Frames must be in their original packaging and unused. If a frame arrives damaged, send us a photo within 7 days and we'll send a replacement on the next post day, no questions.
How to return.
Email returns@photoframers.co.uk with your order number and we'll send a pre-paid Royal Mail returns label. Print it, stick it on the original box, drop it at any post office. We'll email when we receive it and refund the same day.
Bespoke & custom orders.
Made-to-measure frames are cut to your exact spec, so we can only refund or replace them if there's a fault on our end. If you're not sure on size or finish, order a free swatch pack first — we send all 60 mouldings, no charge, anywhere in the UK.
— Frequently asked
Sizing & measurements.
How do I measure for a custom frame?
+
Measure the dimensions of your photograph or print in millimetres — width × height — then add 2mm to each side to give a small viewing window. Type these into the bespoke builder and we'll do the rest. If you want a mountboard, we'll suggest a recommended size based on print dimensions.
What's the difference between A4 and 21×30 cm?
+
They're approximately the same size — A4 is 210 × 297 mm (21 × 29.7 cm). We list both because A-sizes are standard for prints and posters, while metric sizes are easier for snapshots and photographs.
Can you frame a panoramic photograph?
+
Yes — type the dimensions into the bespoke builder. We've framed panoramas up to 1500 × 400 mm in a single piece. For anything wider than 1500 mm, the price includes hand-carriage delivery.
Do you do square frames?
+
Yes, in every collection. Standard square sizes are 20×20, 30×30, 50×50 cm. Or type any custom square dimension into the builder.
Materials & care.
What's "conservation-grade" glass?
+
2 mm glass with a UV filter coating that blocks ~70% of UV light, which is what fades prints over time. Standard on every frame we sell. The upgrade (Museum glass) blocks ~99% of UV and is anti-reflective — recommended for original artworks, signed prints, and family photographs you want to last 50 years.
How do I clean the frame?
+
Glass: a microfibre cloth with a mist of plain water. Avoid window cleaner — it streaks on the UV coating. Moulding: a dry cloth. If you spill something, blot with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Don't use polish or wax.
Are your materials acid-free?
+
Yes — every mountboard is acid-free conservation grade. Backing boards are buffered MDF, also acid-free. Nothing in the frame will yellow your photograph over time.
Orders & account.
Can I change my order after placing it?
+
Yes — email us within 4 hours of ordering and we'll change anything except bespoke cuts that have already started. For standard frames, you can change up until we dispatch (which is usually the next morning).
Do you offer gift cards?
+
Yes — digital gift cards from £20–£500. Email-delivered, never expires. Buy one
here.
Trade & bulk.
Do you offer trade discounts?
+
Yes — designers, photographers, galleries and architects get 20% off all orders and 30-day credit. Apply for a trade account
here with your business details. We respond within 24 hrs.
Can you do bulk orders for events / hotels / restaurants?
+
Yes — we've done sets of 200+ frames for hotel groups and restaurant chains. Email
trade@photoframers.co.uk with your spec and we'll send a custom quote.
